Disable direct linking

Direct linking can be annoying to some people since it uses up your bandwidth, But you can stop this in two ways.

The first way is by just disabling it, so I will not work when your vistors direct link.
ONE. Firstly, you will need to create a file & name it .htaccess, if you already have this file, just paste the code under what you already have in there.

TWO. This is the code you will need to paste into that file;

Change 'yoursite.com' to your domain or subdomain name & save this file!

Then your done!

There is also another way to stop direct linking, this is by replacing the image being direct linked into another.
ONE. Once again, you will need to create a file & name it .htaccess, if you already have this file, just paste the code under what you already have in there.

TWO. And once again you will need to paste this into the file.

Change 'yoursite.com' to your domain or subdomain name & save this file!

THREE. Where it says 'http://www.yoursite.com/hotlink.gif' this is the image url that will replace the image that is being direct linked, change this to whatever image you wish!
Then your done! It's a good way to teach those bandwidth theives a lesson!
